With a voice that can whisper secrets or bring down the house, she channels a timeless spirit that has captivated audiences from smoky clubs to festival stages around the world.
Born in California’s Bay Area, calling Washington DC home for 16 years, and now based in Nashville, Jenny’s journey is one of grit, soul, and endless musical discovery.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, she launched the award-winning band Moonshine Society in 2010, touring internationally and championing American roots music with fire and finesse. In 2015, Langer was diagnosed with cancer and shortly after saw her marriage turn to divorce.
To cope with the unraveling of her home life, she funneled her emotions into writing "The One That Got Away". The song would give her the courage to record the album Sweet Thing with Moonshine Society, which won the 2020 International Blues Challenge (IBC) for Best Self-Produced CD.
She simultaneously toured as a member of The Ron Holloway Band, a hard-hitting funk band lead by Holloway, a member of the Warren Haynes Band and Dizzy Gillespie Quintet.
In 2022, fate introduced her to Randy Jacobs and producer John Wooler. A two-day recording session turned into a full-circle moment as she stepped into the role of lead singer for The Boneshakers, whose high-voltage sound matched her own raw intensity.
Their debut together, One Foot In The Groove, shot to #1 (UK Blues radio charts and US Soul Blues radio charts) and won two Wammie Awards. Their latest album Live to Be This (Gulf Coast Records) continues the ride and was released July 2025, debuting on the Billboard Top 10 Blues chart.
